What is a Virtual Race? A virtual race is a fun, easy, and convenient way to participate in modern "fun runs" without the hassle of actually showing up at a specific date, time, and location. That means you can participate in a 5K, 10K, half-marathon, or even a full marathon from anywhere you like. And on your own schedule. Just like a real run you still get cool race bling in the form of a medal for your participation!

How does it work? It's very easy to participate in our virtual run. Go to our events by either clicking the Moose Ridge Running icon then scrolling down to the event guide, or hover your mouse over the "Virtual Race" above in the menu bar. An "Events" option will present itself for you to click. Simply scroll until you have found the event and purchase a ticket for the event. Events will be ran for an entire month. Once you are registered then all you have to do is complete your race. You can complete it any time during the event. Your medal can either be shipped to you or delivered in person if we are in the area. When you complete the race you can submit your time to see how you stand with all the other participants. But submitting times is not a requirement for receiving your medal. After all, the goal is to have fun, stay fit, and support a good cause.

Am I required to run? No! You can walk, hike, jog, run, treadmill, row machine, bike, snowshoe, or any other manner of exercise you like that will log your distance. If you use a step tracker like a Fitbit you can even log your daily steps.

How do I track a Virtual Race? Runners can log their race using their GPS watches and apps like Strava or Samsung Health. Fitbit or step walkers can track their distance or convert their steps online. Using exercise equipment like treadmills and rowers should display the distance and times for you. If you are hunting you can simply log your track with your hunting GPS app like OnXhunt. The important part isn't how you complete the race but more that you are staying healthy and active. This makes a Virtual Race fun and achievable by almost anyone!
